FND 1/19/18: Once more, with feeling (pizza)

Last week we promised pizza and then were overcome with laziness, fatigue, and inertia.  All three!  Some really great not-pizza happened instead.

Well guess what. We just got a new pizza stone. We have sauce. We have mozzarella. We have toppings.

We’re totally, 100% making pizzas tonight. Got a favorite topping? Bring it. It won’t end up in a weird soup or salad or casserole. It’ll go right on a pizza. Or bring a drink and a friend, or just go have a great weekend, you earned it.

FND 01/05/2018: pizza premiere

For the first time ever (in 2018), FND will spin up pizza, stir up salad and, simmer soup.

BYO favorites to casually toss into/onto any or all of those.  We have just a stupid amount of kalamata olives; don’t need to bring those.

FND 2/12/2016: Pizza Pi

The FND Menu Scheduling and Food Ingredients Committee deliberated for hours, no minutes, no moments and reached a unanimous agreement to propose to the assembled participants (Sarge and Tabu) that today’s dinner be comprised of and/or derived from dough baked in a hot oven after being topped with such foods as sauce(s), cheese(s), and other comestibles to be determined by popular vote.  The assembly approved the proposal, or seemed somewhat interested, or wanted to play with the ball.

FND 01/30/15: PPPPPiiiiizzzzzaaaaa

That’s not a stutter, we’re cranking out pies from scratch.

We start with hand-crafted organic molecules, artisnally formed into polymers based on xylose and arabinose.  These are topped with lipids in an aqueous solution with polymers of amino acids, onto which we add photosynthetic pigment-protein complexes, and pepperoni.

We’ll craft vegetarian and non-gliadin/glutenin dining items as well.

Bring your chemistry sets or stop by a handy local laboratory and purchase additional toppings!

Or round it off to 3.14 if you like and apply pesto.  We can contribute olives, artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes.  Alternatively we also have cherries, pears and apples.

FND 11/16/12: Pasta Pie

The misty pasta swiftly leads the pizza.
Pizzas drink like misty pastas.

So.  Pasta. We’ll make marinara and we have pesto as an alternative.  We’ll make some pizzas too.  Bring a salad or anything to add on, or a drink, or just yourself.

It’s been cool enough for s’mores too – might want a sweater. Or hoodie. Or swoodie.  Unless it rains; then you’ll want a raincoat and some galoshes…

FND 05/25/2012: Picnic

Bundle your buttered buns and pack the prosciutto; it’s a picnic.  Pint-sized pizzettes, fileted fruit, and someone remember to invite the ants.    Or is that Aunts? Always get that wrong.

If the rain/drizzle/mist moves off we’ll fire up s’mores too.

FND 04/13/12: 3.14159ZZA

The General Pizza Prohibition has been lifted; no more will we need to eat bootleg pies snuck into FND by trained walruses.

To celebrate this turn of events we’ll DIY personal-sized and larger pizza pies. Bring pizza stuff – just carry it, no need for Odobenus rosmarus – or drinks or just an inordinate appetite.  We’ll fetch dough and cheese and make some sauce.  mmmmfireroastedtomatoes.
