The soup’s up this week…
FND has opened the root cellar in honor of autumn weather:
Mashed sweet potatoes, spicy roasted pumpkin and butternut squash soup, beet salad, and probably a roasted chicken. Other vegetables as assigned.

This is a good week to celebrate triumphs over weasels and dastardly deeds. Weasels, it so happens, wear hats shaped like wee triangles. Hats that are delicious. So this week at FND we will eat these little triangular hats and they will taste surprisingly like pastries stuffed with fruit or nuts.
A meat (turkey) and bean soup is likely along with some ropey bread.
Bring really anything you like, best if it incites vengeful curdling whoops.

They look so cute and innocent, why must they be so delicious too?
Potstickers or dumplings it matters not; we will warm and pile them up and dip them in savoryness and *pop* eat them.
And because it is cold there’ll be a big pot of hot soup. Or two pots, or more if folks bring theirs….
Also: A tremendous bowl of greens simmered in veggie broth.
And: popsicles because the soup is so hot.
Have a really great relaxing weekend.

A tale of three soups: Chicken, squash, and tomato.
Once upon a time I had just cooked chicken* and made quite a bit of broth, so I made it into chicken potato soup. Super tasty, but I also had some CSA squash** to deal with.
In a flash the idea: make it into soup with the CSA banana peppers.
Oh hey, what to do with these tomatoes?
Soup? A little spicey, a hint of cream? Could it be?
And of course, in the event three soups are made in one day, the Articles of Dinnerification indicate a quantity of garlic bread measuring not less than 1/2 the total wet volume must be produced. Good thing the CSA brought garlic too.
That is obviously too much food for two people to eat***, what to do? How will it end?

It is matzo time-o year and the weather is… hot and cold.
In honor of some of the wetter, colder weather we are having warm tummy food this FND.
We have tons-o-bowls so a variety of soupy options can be enjoyed by all.
Happy almost end of week!

Hi Folks,
All three Levy Komes are finally home for FND. This week the theme is soup. I am thinking I am also gonna make cheese grits cause I feel like it.
You could bring soup, things that go nicely with soup, dessert for after soup, appetizers for before soup, or drinks to enjoy with soup.
So we know you are coming, *please please please* sign up at fndeats.wordpress.com. Really. It is easy. Give it a try.
Happy almost weekend,
Ray, Sam and Mimi
