FND- NC 11/5/21: Dumplings of the world

An FND tradition, you may recall, is that the first person to respond in a week gets to call the theme.  Karen Daniels has picked one of my faves:  dumplings of the world!
If you have a steamer, you might bring that too!

Let us know who and what you are bringing!

FNDNC – 10/29/21: Pizza

We are settled into our new digs in Raleigh. We have a sweet little screened in porch and ways to open up the house and/or ventilate if the weather permits. Let us know by email/text if you need the address – not posting here.

We’ll post a theme here each week and what we are making (or what supplies we have). This week we will have dough, sauce and some cheese. Please being things like more cheese, toppings, salad, drinks, dessert.

Please be considerate and respond to this post with what you are bringing and who you are bringing so people know how many are attending and can decide if the crowd size works for them.

Show on up any time after 6 or earlier if you don’t care if we are totally ready 🙂

We have been on the super cautious side and this is a big step for us. For now we are limiting to people who have been vaccinated, who feel well and have not knowingly been recently COVID-exposed.

FND 3/2/18: Dumplings!

Celebrate the end of the cold rainy week with some steaming dumplings! All kinds welcome.

10/27/17: Anything you can make in a waffle iron.

Bring your waffle irons and stuff to make in them.

Ask the interwebs if you need ideas…

See you soooooon.

If you are getting this email for the first time… this is a tradition that has been going on more than 25 years! No need to RSVP unless you are coming. VERY CASUAL. If you want to be on the weekly list, please let us know.

FND 9/22/17: Comfort Food for the New Year

Wow we really fell off the Friday Night Dinner (FND) Wagon. But it is a new school year and Rosh Hashanah is next week so we are getting the ball rolling on Friday 9/22.

For those new to the list, this is a potluck with a theme and you can RSVP at the link below with what you plan to bring so we don’t get too much duplication and get to eat a variety of yummies. The gathering is VERY informal and you are welcome to bring folks.

The theme for next week is comfort food, with extra points for round things and things with honey (traditional Jewish New Year’s things). And despite all the talk of New Year’s, this isn’t a religious gathering.

Only rules are don’t hurt anyone and try not to break anything. 🙂 We have been doing this for about 27 years so you are gonna have to work hard to surprise us.

Some folks end up being regulars, others come once in a blue moon. Come when you feel like it.

Best regards,
Ray and Sam

FND 6/2/17: SO SUMMER

Our grill is temporarily kaput, but we have the firepit.

Bring on your favorite summer picnic / camping favorites.

Blender will be in full force – I hear it is supposed to be a scorcher.

Been missing y’all.  See ya soon!
