FND 11/30/12: B to the Wreck to the Fast

‘sup?

Casa El Kay is cookin’ up grits, waffles, scrambled eggs and green chiles.  You down?

10/12/12 Comfort Waffles

I know we had breakfast recently, here’s the thing: we need to have breakfast again.
Pecan waffles with hand-whipped cream and honey.
See?
Spanish Omelets. Jam on toast. Fresh-squeezed OJ.

Trust us; it’s time. We know what we’re doing.

FND 9/21/12: Champions, Breakfast of

The expression “Breakfast of Champions” is a registered trademark of General Mills, Inc., for use on a breakfast cereal product. The use of the identical expression as the title for this blog entry is not intended to indicate an association with or sponsorship by General Mills, nor is it intended to disparage their fine products.

We don’t want to disparage General Mills in part because they choose to make their cereal products with whole grains, and also because in the same facility where they make their food milling machines, they also make weapons (probably)* and deep sea submersibles (definitely)** and I never mess with an organization that has such a broad mission.

So where were we. Oh right, FND.  Pancakes! Eggs, goobles of fruit, oatmeal, juice and toast with jam.

Have a great weekend, you’ve earned it. We’ll turn the heat down a bit for you.

*Just ask yourself: they made a submarine, why not also make a rail gun?

FND 8/24/2012: Breakfasty goodness

Breakfast and all the breakfasty goodness you can muster.

Dan and Lauren are cooking up some frittata.  Meem and Sam and I will make some kinda baked good — biscuits and/or challah.  We’ll scramble up a mess o eggs.
We’re aiming to sit down to eat between 6:30 and 7, so feel free to come early if you wanna cook at our place.
Happy end-o-week!
Ray

FND 6/29: Pancakes

Riddled with chocolate chips, or fruit, or garlic (we’re not here to judge).

Scrambled eggs are also distinctly possible as are smoothies.  Poached albatross is *not* currently possible; sauteed salmon *is*.

We have virtually no bread nor juice if you happen to be carrying them, yay.  Also sort of low on things-to-put-on-bread-aside-from-butter.

Have a great, if somewhat overly warm weekend!

* Dinner starts around 6:30-ish
* Let us know who and what you are bringing  at http://fndeats.wordpress.com for self-organizational goodness.
* If you ever want us to remove you from this list or add a friend, just let us know.

FND 04/TODAY/2012: !!Breakfast!!

Already a month since breakfast, must be time for banana fritters, scrambled eggs&cheese, pancakes and mimosas.

We’ll never have breakfast again in April of this year so come bring your best belly.

FND 11/18/2011: Breakfast!

We are all in town and ready to eat some serious breakfast. Ray will make cheesy grits. Sam will make waffles!

FND 8/5/11: The first meal of the day, redux

Breakfast!  English muffin with avocado, sliced cherry tomatoes, poached egg and a sploink of goats’ cheese.  Pancakes with mashed strawberry and pear topping.  Oats with raisins and pecans, etc etc.  Breakfast!

FND 06/03: Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam

…which is what we affectionately call french toast, pancakes, maple syrup and chai. Hardly any spam (cue Vikings).

05/06/11: Za Plus

Fast full week makes for last minute FND notices, QED, mea culpa, cogito ergo sum.

We’ll be at half staff here because of end of the semester work obligations, but dinner will be served, rest assured.
And dinner will be pizza, calzones, and for some reason I don’t understand, omelets. It’s as if les petite étrangers martiens a écrit le message FND.

We have dough, sauce, cheese, olives and anchovies (thank goodness!)
Bring a topping, drink, your friend or just your grumbly belly.
