FND 8/19/2011: Ethiopian food

I have some injera and I will make a variety of Ethiopian delights. Red lentil, yellow lentil, greens, cabbage/carrot/potato, beets (if I can find them). You can bring drinks, dessert and hands to help in the kitchen! I’ll start cooking at 5PM if you have a bit-o-time.

FND 8/12/2011: Tapas (appetizers, finger foods, small plates)

Howdy folks,

Join us for Friday Night Dinner with your favorite tapas (appetizers, finger foods, small plates).

We will continue on the theme of accompanying frozen drink wonderfulness.

Ursula will be in the house! Mimi is still not back but look out for her next week!

Happy almost weekend…

Ray and Sam

FND is back in Claremont! 7/29/2011: Grillin’ and chillin’

We are gonna fire up the grill for some back-to-Claremont eats. Grilled wonder will be accompanied by icy delight from the blender.

We are fresh in from Route 66, and we have missed y’all!

You’re gonna have to wait a few weeks to see Mimi — she is still whoopin’ it up with her grandparents.

See ya soon,

Sam and Ray

FND 6/17/2011: Big Breakfast!

Howdy NC Folks!

Phil is back and Sam and Mimi are finally here!

This week we will gather again at Phil’s place for a Big Breakfast. Here’s how it works. We will make some pancakes. You can bring eggs for cooking, omelette fixings, sausage or perhaps tofu scramble, fruit, makings for mimosas… You get the idea.

We will use the FND blog here again for self-organizational goodness. Special thanks to the folks last week who posted. You post what you are bringing (I’ll moderate/approve the comments) and you can check the blog to see how many folks are showing up and what we still need.

RSVP with who and what you are bringing at http://fndeats.wordpress.com/

Location: 2908 Arnold Rd, Durham, NC — Phil asks that you park on the lawn/driveway/verge but try to keep cars off the pavement as much as possible (narrow road with no safe room for parking). You can also park at the end of the road.

See you soon!

Ray and the FND crew.

Howdy NC Folks!

The first NC Friday Night Dinner of the summer was a smashing success! Thanks to everyone who made it out.

This week we will gather again at Phil’s place for Burrito Wonderland. Here’s how it works. I will make a big pot o refried beans. You bring tortillas, an assortment of fillings, toppings, salsa, cheese, drinks, dessert, etc.

5/27/2011: Pie and Smoothies

Our daughter Tulani is in town — come on out and meet her. We’ll be serving up all kinds-o-pie. Savory and sweet. Quiche anyone?

It has been hot so we will also blend up some smoothies. And Tom will wash the blender after he uses peanut butter.

See you soon!

Ray

FND 5/20/2011: Faretheewell Ursula!

Ursula is moving to tenure-track goodness. She promises to visit, but this will be her last FND as a local.

She has requested French+Vietnamese+Grilled Food, so you have plenty of choices.

We’ll fire up the grill about 6, so feel free to come on the early side.

Happy end of week!

RaySamMimi and the critters

FND 4/6/2011: Smoothies +

I’ll be ready with the blender and make-your-own smoothies ingredients.

How many tacos can you eat? Bet Sam can eat more!

Bring on the fillings and toppings and salsas. And don’t forget dessert!
If we are really snazzy we’ll make some homemade tortillas along with supplying hard and soft shells.

End this superbly soggy week with some snazzy eats.

See you soon!
