FND 08/17/12: Wrap and Roll: Sushi

Specifically, Edomae makizushi, ha ha, don’t worry we won’t use our stockpiles of fermented neta, no.  We understand not everyone is into that this century.

Instead we’ll be wrapping ever-so-slightly vinegary rice and yummy vegetables and optional fish in sheets of silky nori.  The only thing fermented will be the sake.

FND 6/15: dumpling festival

Potstickers, steamed, fried, pierogi, matzoh balls, kreplach, won ton, gyoza, gnocchi, chicken and dumpling, pakoras… You have options.

Last FND with Ray, Mimi, and Sarge for a while, so get your fix now.

Have a great weekend

FND 2/16/12: Dear little dumpling(s) and soup

They look so cute and innocent, why must they be so delicious too?
Potstickers or dumplings it matters not; we will warm and pile them up and dip them in savoryness and *pop* eat them.

And because it is cold there’ll be a big pot of hot soup. Or two pots, or more if folks bring theirs….
Also: A tremendous bowl of greens simmered in veggie broth.
And: popsicles because the soup is so hot.

Have a really great relaxing weekend.

Lucky dumplings

Friday the 13th never scared FND, but if it did we could always resort to lucky dumplings.  Uhm, and so we are: they may be steamed or fried or pot-stickery.

We’ll also have lots of rice and some greens and dipping sauce.  Bring your favorite dumpling(s), even/especially the two-legged variety.

FND 03/12/2010: Wrapped Food

Back by popular demand, we are going to have wrapped food.

Could be dumplings, sandwich wraps, crepes, rice/chicken wrapped in lettuce, you name it and bring it!

We’ll gather at about 6 PM to celebrate the end of the week.

Please RSVP who and what you are bringing here at fndeats.wordpress.com

12/4/09: Wrapped Food

This week we will have wrapped food from around the world. According to the lucky early RSVPer who got to call the theme, “Every culture has its burrito.” So bring on your blintzes, egg rolls., burritos, wraps, ice cream wrapped in a cone, apple turnovers, or those little hot dogs wrapped in biscuit dough.

We’re going to make a Korean dish you eat wrapped in lettuce. Mmmmmmm. Early birds might get lettuce from the garden!

Sam says I should have rapped this announcement, but (for once) I know better than to try.

As always, please RSVP who and what you are bringing right here at http://fndeats.wordpress.com
