Friday Night Dinner

  • FND 1/11/13: Rain Check

Sorry folks, we’re taking a pause to refresh and come back better than even next week!

  • FND 1/4/2013: Tacos

Tacos rock.  Right?  Bring your favorite fillings and toppings.     Unless you are thinking of hot sauce, cause we have a gazillion versions of hot sauce (thanks, Allegra!).   We will have crunchy and smooth wrappers and refried beans.  You could even make your own tortillas if you get the inclination.   See ya…

  • FND 12/28/12: Not the city in North Ghana

Tamale is known for shea nuts, but they apparently aren’t delicious so we’re going to go with the Nahuatl tamale which *is* delicious. If we have left overs we can mix them with aloe and make skin lotion. Win-win.– * Dinner starts around 6:30-ish * Let us know who and what you are bringing  for self-organizational…

  • FND 12/21/12: Last FND EVER (this week)

A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid. –obligatory Hobbit riddle. Also, pancakes, fruit, cheesy grits, ever-so-almost turkey bacon, and mimosas.

The weather today cinched it: we have to have a big pot of steaming hot spicey chili because it was a bit cold.  And we need something crunchy because it rained (what? That makes perfect sense), so tostadas. Tostadas are the opposite of rain. We’ll make a veggie chili and a meat side (to add).…

  • FND 11/30/12: B to the Wreck to the Fast

‘sup? Casa El Kay is cookin’ up grits, waffles, scrambled eggs and green chiles.  You down?

  • FND 11/23/13: Dal, greens, rice

A little lighter fare this week, no particular reason. A tasty pot of Dal, a lot of kale and garlicky spinach, and at least several grains of rice. Roll this way!  Have a great weekend!

  • FND 11/16/12: Pasta Pie

The misty pasta swiftly leads the pizza. Pizzas drink like misty pastas. Never command a pizza. The big pasta calmly leads the pizza. Where is the rainy pasta?  —Poem Generator So.  Pasta. We’ll make marinara and we have pesto as an alternative.  We’ll make some pizzas too.  Bring a salad or anything to add on,…

  • FND 11/9/12: Roots

FND has opened the root cellar in honor of autumn weather: Mashed sweet potatoes, spicy roasted pumpkin and butternut squash soup, beet salad, and probably a roasted chicken.  Other vegetables as assigned. Have a great weekend!

  • FND 10/26/2012: Pan Asian Food

Did you know that if you are the first person to say you are coming to FND, you get to call the theme??? This week we are waaay ahead of the game (which means this email is coming out on time), and we are having all-kinds-o-Asian food. A festival really. Could be stir fry or…
