11/13/2009: Comfort Food

What’s your comfort food? Sam is thinking of squash soup or tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Mimi likes this thing Elizabeth Hodas makes with chicken and rice and vegetables. And matzo ball soup, but we had that last week. Ray likes artichokes and olives and sushi. So you see you can bring just about anything — just make sure you sign up so we get a good mix!

9/18/09: Pizza goes round like the years

Hi Folks,

In honor of the Jewish New Year we are going to have pizza for FND.
We have mozzarella and dough — you bring the toppings and sides.
Apple and honey themed desserts especially welcome.

RSVP if you are coming with what and whom you are bringing at
fndeats.wordpress.com

Cheers,

Sam (pizza thrower extraordinaire)
Ray (delightful dough maker) and
Mimi (serious black olive and pepperoni eater)

9/11/09: No FND — see ya next week

9/4/09: Gourmet Grilled Cheese

This week we are going to play make-your-own amazing sandwich. Needed: fillings, cheese, excellent bread, drinks, dessert, perhaps some veggies and fruit for the side?

If you missed breakfast, it was truly a feast. Even the western-bought grits were recognizable as the real deal.

I know it is the school year now, and people are tuckered out on Fridays. but here’s the FND magic: if you party on Friday night the weekend seems much longer! You have feasted the night away and you have 2 full days left to have even more fun. So come on out and celebrate the week’s end.

Sam, Ray and Mimi

8/27: Breakfast!

It has been far too long since we have had breakfast for dinner.

Here are some favorites:
omelettes, pancakes, awfuls (waffles), pie (especially cherry, hint hint), bananna fritters, fruit galore, cheesy grits (and Lisette has never had grits!), bacon/sausage and their soy sisters… you get the idea.

Whew it has been a long week. Looking forward to celebrating the end with you.

Sam, Ray and Mimi (who survived camp!)
